The Mark Of The Beast - Part I

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. Revelation 13:16-18

In this issue of The Prophetic Messenger, we will start a message titled “The Mark Of The Beast.”

a) Jesus - When Jesus was speaking to the Jews about the antichrist in the gospel of John, He told them that the antichrist would come in his own name. In John 5:43-47 Jesus says “43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?”

b) John - The apostle John talked about how there are many antichrists. In I John 2:18, 22 it says “18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time........22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.” Also, in I John 4:3 it says “ And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” The apostle John spoke about the antichrist spirit that was in his day but he also talked about the future antichrist.

The antichrist will not be in his own power but will be in the power of satan. In Revelation 13 the beast is the antichrist which gets his power from the dragon which is the devil. In Revelation 13:1-2 it says “1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” In Revelation 12:9 it says “ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” In II Thessalonians 2:9 it says “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,” Also, in Daniel 8:23-24 it says “23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. 24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.”

In closing, we see how the antichrist will deceive many people through the power of satan.
