Where Will The Antichrist Come From?
1. The Symbolism Of Revelation 13:2
In Revelation 13:2 the Holy Spirit gives us real insight about the Antichrist and where he will come from. It states "And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority". First let's look at the symbolism in this verse of scripture. The Beast is symbolic of the Antichrist, the leopard is symbolic of Greece, the bear is symbolic of Media-Persia, the lion is symbolic of Babylon and the dragon is symbolic of Satan. In Daniel 7:1 - 7, Daniel dreams of four beasts which are four kings and four kingdoms which would come upon the earth. Daniel 7:3 states "And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another." Verse 4 is where the lion, verse 5 is where the bear and verse 6 is where the leopard in Revelation 13:2 come from. Revelation 12 :9 explains that the dragon is Satan.
2. The Antichrist Will Come From The Greece Of Today
Now that there is a basic understanding of the symbols in Revelation 13:2 we can look closely and find from this scripture and a few others that the Antichrist will come out of Greece. In studying Bible prophecy or anything in the Holy Bible (Old King James Version only) it is very important that you get two or three witnesses. II Corinthians 13:1 states "This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." II Timothy 2:15 states "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." We must rightly divide the Word of God. Our first witness that the Antichrist will come out of Greece is in Revelation 13:2. Notice the Beast or Antichrist was like unto a leopard (the leopard is Greece). Our second witness that the Antichrist will come out of Greece is in Daniel 8:8 ,9 and 21 and 22. Daniel 8:8-9 says "Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land". In verses 21 and 22 it states "And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power." In Daniel 8:8 we see that the goat is Grecia or Greece, and the great horn is the first king which was Alexander the Great. The great horn was broken and from it came up four kingdoms. After Alexander the Great's death four kingdoms came up but not in his power. In verse 9 it states "And out of one of them came forth a little horn," meaning that out of one of the four kingdoms that arose after the death of Alexander the Great will come the little horn or Antichrist. From these scriptures we see our second witness that the Antichrist will come out of Greece. Our third and final witness comes from Daniel Chapter 7:7-8 which states "After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things." We see in Daniel 7:7 that the fourth beast with ten horns is the fourth kingdom on the earth which is the Roman Empire (See Daniel 7:23). Notice the first part of verse 8 "I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn." The little horn or Antichrist came up among them or came up among the Roman Empire or Revived Roman Empire. Today it is called the European Union and Greece is a part of it and was admitted to membership in 1979, effective in 1981.
In closing, we see in Revelation 13:2 that the Antichrist was like unto a leopard (leopard is Greece). Daniel 8:8-9,21-22 shows how the Antichrist will come out of one of the four kingdoms that were formed after the death of Alexander the Great. The Greece we know today was part of one of those four kingdoms. And last we see how the Antichrist will come out of the Revived Rome Empire which we know as the European Union today and which Greece has been a member of since 1981.
