Is the Prophecy in Ezekiel 38 & 39 About to Happen? - Part III

"2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,.....5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: 6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.....15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: Ezekiel 38:2,5-6 and 15"

In this issue of The Prophetic Messenger, we will continue a message titled “Is the Prophecy in Ezekiel 38 & 39 About to Happen? - Part III.” We will continue looking at the nations who are fighting in this war.

Meshech and Tubal (Turkey)

The nation of Turkey has been a friend and ally of Israel but is now becoming an enemy. In the November/December 2004 edition of Prophetic Messenger, in the article titled “The Turkey Factor” we looked at how Turkey has begun to oppose Israel and develop relationships with nations that are enemies with Israel.

Here are two recent articles showing Turkey’s relationship with Israel’s enemies. From “Russian Missile Deal With Turkey Raises Concern Inside Pentagon”(Note 1):

“Turkey’s decision to press forward with a multimillion dollar weapons deal with Russia is causing concern within the Pentagon, with U.S. defense officials concerned the Russian-made systems will harm American joint operations with the NATO ally. Ankara and Moscow last month agreed to preliminary terms on the $2.5 billion deal for Russia to supply Turkey with four S-400 missile interceptor batteries over the next year. Under terms of the deal, Russian defense officials will deliver two of the four missile defense systems to Turkey via Russian defense firm Rosoboronexport. The final two systems will be built inside Turkey, using parts and systems provided by the Russian military, according to recent reports. Pentagon officials maintain the cause for concern over Turkey’s decision does not lie with Russia. Rather, the use of Russian systems by a NATO ally could cause confusion between Ankara and alliance members on the battlefield. “Our only concern about it is one of interoperability. Turkey is a NATO ally and generally speaking it is a good idea for allies to buy interoperable equipment,” Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said Monday. Most NATO allied field American or western European-made weapon systems. Further, a majority of the alliances’ forces are not trained on operating Russian-made heavy weapons systems, such as the S-400.”

From “Syria War: Turkey, Russia, Iran Agree Idlib ‘Ceasefire’ Zone”(Note 2):

“Powers backing rival sides in the Syrian war have agreed on the latest in a series of so-called "de-escalation zones", aimed at calming fighting. Turkey, which opposes the Syrian government, and Syria's allies Russia and Iran reached a deal in talks in the Kazakh capital, Astana. The plan will apply to Idlib - where jihadists hold sway - and parts of Latakia, Aleppo and Hama provinces. The establishment of "safe" zones has led to a marked drop in fighting. Syria's conflict has left more than 330,000 people dead and displaced millions more since it broke out in 2011. The powers also agreed to deploy their forces to points along the boundaries of the zone to monitor compliance. The plan for the de-escalation zones, which was initially agreed upon at talks in May, allows for militant groups to still be targeted. Idlib, the last province entirely outside of government control, is the stronghold of jihadist alliance Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) led by al-Qaeda's former official affiliate, which is not party to the agreement. It is also a base of what has been an important Turkey-backed Islamist rebel group, Ahrar al-Sham, which has refused to take part in the talks. Some armed groups, and the Syrian government, have sent delegations. Although Turkey has long called for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's removal, in recent months it has worked with Russia and Iran to gradually freeze the fighting.”

In closing, it is clear that even though Turkey is a NATO member, its acts of purchasing a Russian S-400 system and agreeing to a ceasefire with Russia and Iran shows that we are closer to the prophecy in Ezekiel 38 & 39 being fulfilled. In the next newsletter we will look at other nations as they relate to this prophecy.

Memory Verses

As Christians if we want to live in victory and if we want to be able to share the Word Of God with others we must know the Word of God ourselves. Let's see what the Bible says about this. "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119:11. "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7. "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed." John 8:31. We encourage you to put the following scriptures in your heart: Job 42:2, I Corinthians 15:9, Jeremiah 18:2, Acts 2:47, John 8:17, Zechariah 14:11, Ezekiel 36:26, John 13:35, Proverbs 13:18, Romans 12:19.
