European Union - The Final Kingdom - Part I

1. How Many Countries Are Using the Euro
In the March/April 1999 issue of the Prophetic Messenger newsletter, the article titled “Why Is The Euro Important?” looked at the eleven nations which chose to adopt a new currency called the euro. Today, we will look at how the euro is now the currency used by twenty-three countries. In an article titled “Euro Countries”, subtitled “23 Countries Use the Euro as their Official Currency” it says
“Today, the euro is one of the world's most powerful currencies, used by more than 320 million Europeans in twenty-three countries.” The countries currently using the euro are: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France,Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Vatican City. . . . Lithuania and Latvia are expected to join the Eurozone in the next few years and thus become countries using the euro. Only 17 of the 27 members of the European Union (EU) are part of the Eurozone, the name for the collection of EU countries that utilize the euro. Notably, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Sweden have thus far decided not to convert to the euro. Other new EU member countries are working toward becoming part of the Eurozone. On the other hand, Andorra, Kosovo, Montenegro, Monaco, San Marino, and the Vatican City are not EU members but do officially use the euro as their currencies.”(Note 1)

2. Why The European Union Is Weak
There are many reasons why the European Union is weak. One reason is God’s timing. In an article from the November/December 1999 issue of The Prophetic Messenger titled “Why We Are In The Last Generation”, we shared why we are in the last generation. In another article from the May/June 2001 issue of The Prophetic Messenger titled “The Revived Roman Empire”, we shared how the European Union will be the final kingdom and will bring in the antichrist. All the economic and government structures are now in place for a future antichrist. In an article titled “History of the European Union, subtitled “The Lisbon Treaty” it says
“The EU’s level of integration is already unmatched in the modern world, but there are people who want to move it closer still (and many people who don’t). The Convention on the Future of Europe was created in 2002 to create an EU constitution, and the draft, signed in 2004, aimed to install a permanent EU president, a Foreign Minister and a Charter of Rights. It would have also allowed the EU to make many more decisions instead of the heads’ of the individual nation states. It was rejected in 2005, when France and the Netherlands failed to ratify it (and before other EU members got the chance to vote). An amended work, the Lisbon Treaty, still aimed to install an EU president and Foreign Minister, as well as expand the EU’s legal powers, but only through developing the existing bodies. This was signed in 2007 but was initially rejected, this time by voters in Ireland. However, in 2009 Irish voters passed the treaty, many concerned of the economic effects of saying no. By the winter 2009 all 27 EU states had ratified the process, and it took effect. Herman Van Rompuy, at that time Belgium Prime Minister, became the first ‘President of the European Council’, and Britain’s Baroness Ashton ‘High Representative for Foreign Affairs’. There remained many political opposition parties – and politicians in the ruling parties – which opposed the treaty, and the EU remains a divisive issue in the politics of all member nations.”(Note 2)
The EU has it’s first President which in the future will be the antichrist.
