Israel In Prophecy - Part I
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. Romans 11:25-27
In this issue of The Prophetic Messenger, we will begin a message titled "Israel in Prophecy." We will look at how God will use the nation of Israel to fulfill His word.

1. Israel Becomes A Nation
Since the Romans destroyed Jerusalem in A.D. 70, the Jews have spent almost nineteen hundred years spread all over the world. In Ezekiel 36:22-24, God speaks of restoring the children of Israel out of the heathen countries and bringing them into their own land. This prophecy was fulfilled in May 1948, and there are still many Israelites in the United States and around the world that God will bring into His land again. In Ezekiel 36:22-24 it says "22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. 23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. 24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land."
In Matthew 24:32-34, Jesus Christ used the parable of the fig tree to tell us about the restoration of Israel. In Matthew 24:32-34 it says "32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." 2. The Times Of The Gentiles Fulfilled
The times of the Gentiles were fulfilled when the Jews reclaimed Jerusalem from the Gentiles. In Luke 21:24 it says "And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled." This scripture was fulfilled in June 1967, after the Six Day war in the Middle East, when Israel took over all of Jerusalem.
3. War In Israel
There have been many wars in Israel since 1948, but in Ezekiel chapter 38 & 39 the Bible talks about a future war. This will be another amazing war in which God will use the nation of Israel to defeat the nations who come against her. We have shared in great detail about this war in our newsletters titled "What Is Armageddon?" July/August 2005 and "The Turkey Factor" November/December 2004.
In closing, there was a recent meeting in Davos, Switzerland at the World Economic Forum at which there was a heated debate between Israel and Turkey. This debate was covered in an article titled "Turkish PM Storms Out Of Heated Mideast Debate"(Note 1). A quote from this article states, "Turkey's Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan stormed out of a debate on the Middle East at the World Economic Forum on Thursday, saying he might never return to the annual gathering of the rich and powerful. Israel's President Shimon Peres had launched a fiery defense of his country's assault on Gaza over the past month and, with a raised voice and pointed finger, questioned what Erdogan would do if rockets were fired at Istanbul every night..........Turkey's state-run Anatolian news agency quoted Erdogan as saying to Peres: 'When it comes to killing you know very well how to kill. I know very well how you killed children on the beaches.' In a hastily-called news conference, Erdogan later explained that he had been upset with both the moderation of the debate and Peres' manner." This prophecy in Ezekiel 38 and 39 was spoken over 2500 years ago but now we are seeing many things coming together to fulfill this prophecy in the near future.

Memory Verses
As Christians if we want to live in victory and if we want to be able to share the Word Of God with others we must know the Word of God ourselves. Let's see what the Bible says about this. "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119:11. " If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7. "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed." John 8:31. We encourage you to put the following scriptures in your heart: Psalm 68:19, Malachi 3:10, Psalm 37:5, Mark 11:24, Isaiah 64:6, Genesis 12:3, Proverbs 8:11, Acts 1:8, Ezekiel 3:21, Proverbs 29:11.Use only the Old King James version of the Holy Bible.
