Healing - Part II
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

In this issue of The Prophetic Messenger, we will finish the message titled “Healing.”
1. God Will Confirm His Word
God will confirm His Word. There are many examples in the Bible, but we will share just a few from the scriptures. Jesus told all believers in the gospel of Mark that when they pray for the sick that the sick will recover. In Mark 16:18-20 it says “18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” We see another example in Acts 8 when Philip went to Samaria and preached the Word of God unto the people there. In Acts 8:4-8 it says “4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. 6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.”
2. All Sickness Is Not Physical
Sometimes people have sicknesses from evil spirits that manifest in the physical body. When the evil spirit is cast out the person is healed. In Luke 13 we see Jesus praying for a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years. In Luke 13:10-13 it says “10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. 11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. 12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. 13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.” In Matthew 9 we see Jesus cast out a dumb spirit. In Matthew 9:32-33 it says “32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.” In Matthew 17 we see Jesus cast out the devil from a lunatic. In Matthew 17:14-18 it says “14 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, 15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. 16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. 17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. 18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.” We see from these three examples that all sickness in not just physical but sometimes it can be an evil spirit manifested in the flesh.
3. Believe God’s Word
We must believe God’s word when it comes to being healed. In Mark 11:23-26 Jesus says “23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Jesus says two keys things in this passage. First, in verse 24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” we must believe first before we receive. Second, our hearts must be right with God meaning that if we have ought against any or unforgiveness towards anyone we must repent so it will not hinder our prayers from being answered. In Acts 14 we see Paul preaching the gospel and being shown by the Lord Jesus that the man hearing the word of God had faith to be healed. In Acts 14:8-10 it says “8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.”
In closing, we must not have faith like doubting Thomas but we must believe the word of God and thank the Lord Jesus for the healing that we may need at this time.

Memory Verses
As Christians if we want to live in victory and if we want to be able to share the Word Of God with others we must know the Word of God ourselves. Let's see what the Bible says about this. "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119:11. "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7. "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed." John 8:31. We encourage you to put the following scriptures in your heart: I Corinthians 3:7, Mark 16:18, I John 4:1, Ecclesiastes 7:14, Ezekiel 28:14, Colossians 3:2, Hosea 9:7, Colossians 1:15, Isaiah 6:5, I Thessalonians 5:8.
