The Order of God
"But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God."
I Corinthians 11:3
This article describes the order of God in heaven and on earth.
I Corinthians 11:3
This article describes the order of God in heaven and on earth.
1. The Order Of God
I John 5:7 describes the order of God. In I John 5:7 it says "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." The Father, the Word which is Jesus Christ , and the Holy Ghost.
a) The Father
There is an order to the three persons in the Godhead. God, the Father, is first, the Son of God, Jesus Christ, is second, and the Holy Ghost is third. In I Thessalonians 1:1 it says "Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ." In II John 1:3 it says "Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love." Also, in Ephesians 3:14 it says "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
God the Father, spoke from heaven, to the people on the earth when Jesus was baptized in water and when Jesus was transfigured before Peter, James and John, his disciples. In Matthew 3:13-17 it says "13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
In Matthew 17:1-5 it says "1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. 4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." And also in II Peter 1:17 it says "For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
b) The Word
Jesus Christ is the Word of God. In John 1:1 and 14 it says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God......14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." Also, in Revelation 19:13 it says "And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God."
The only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ his Son. In John 14:6 Jesus says "...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." In Acts 4:10-12 it says "10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Also, in I Timothy 2:5 it says "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
We see that God the Father gave Jesus a name which is above every name. In Philippians 2:6-11 it says "6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
c) The Holy Ghost
The third person in the Godhead is the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost will only lift up Jesus Christ, not men or women in the body of Christ. Let's look at some examples in scriptures. In Matthew 3:16 it says "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:" In John 15:26 it says "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:" The Comforter is the Holy Ghost as stated in John 14:26 which says "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." Also, in John 16:13-15 it says "13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you."
Jesus told the disciples that he would send them another Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, after he departed into heaven. In John 14:16-18 it say "16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." In John 16:5-7 it says "5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? 6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." Also, in Luke 24:49 Jesus said "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."

2. The Order Of God In Ministry
The word of God shows the order of God in ministry. Jesus Christ is the head of the church. In Ephesians 4:11-15 it says "11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:" In Corinthians 12:28 it says "And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues." The scriptures show that the gifts of ministry in order are the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. The scriptures also show that the apostles and pastors are always men only and never women.
All the apostles in the bible are men. In Matthew 10:1-4 it says "1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. 2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him." In Acts 1:23-26 it says "23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, show whether of these two thou hast chosen, 25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. 26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles."
All the pastors in the bible are men. In Titus 1:5-6 it says "5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: 6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly." Some elders were pastors. In Acts 20:17, 28 it says "17 And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.......28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." From these passages of scripture that the pastors were all men. We do see women prophetesses, evangelists and teachers in the bible.

3. The Order Of God In The Family
In I Corinthians 11:3 it shows us the order of God in the family. In I Corinthians 11:3 it says "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." The order of God for the family is man over woman, and man and woman over children, and Jesus Christ as the head of the man.
a) Man
The man must be the head of his house, not a dictator, as the scriptures teach . Paul shows us a example of how God wants men to treat their wives. In Ephesians 5:23-25,28-31 say "23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;....28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh." In I Corinthians 7:3-4 it says "3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. 4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife." If we as men do not treat our wives with the love of God, as He spoke in His word, we can hinder our prayers being answered. In I Peter 3:6-7 it says "6 Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. 7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered."
b) Woman
In Ephesians 5:21-22 and Colossians 3:18 Paul tells us how the woman is to treat her husband. In Ephesians 5:21-22 it says "21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord." In Colossians 3:18 it says "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord." Also, in Genesis 3:16 it says "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."
c) Children
We as parents, whether married or single, must train our children to trust and serve Jesus Christ. In Proverbs 22:6 it says "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." We must correct or discipline our children if we really love them. In Proverbs 22:15 it says "Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him." In Proverbs 23:13-14 it says "13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell." We must correct in love and not be abusive. If we do not, Jesus Christ will hold us accountable. We see this in I Samuel 3:11-14 where Eli refused to correct his children and God's judgment came on him. In I Samuel 3:11-14 it says "11 And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. 12 In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. 13 For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not. 14 And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever."
Parents must teach their children to respect them and to be obedient to them, as the scriptures show us. In Ephesians 6:1-3 it says "1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth." In Colossians 3:20 it says "Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord."
And last, do not provoke your children to wrath. In Ephesians 6:4 it says "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." Also, in Colossians 3:21 it says "Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged."
