Hell Is Not The Final Destination

"14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:14-15

This article shows us that hell is not the last place for those who are lost and who die without Jesus Christ in their life.

1. The Rich Man And Lazarus

In Luke 16:19-31 Jesus shows clearly in scriptures where people who are lost go when they die, which is hell. In Luke 16:19-31 it says "19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead." We see also how Lazarus who was saved went to Abraham's bosom. In Luke 16:22 it says "And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;" We see how the rich man in hell and in torment asked if Lazarus would "dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue" but Lazarus was not able to come because "there is a great gulf fixed". In Luke 16:26 it says "And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence." And last, we see the rich man asking to send Lazarus to his father's house but in Luke 16:29-31 it says "29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead." We know even today that many people are rejecting salvation through Jesus Christ who rose from the dead and are going to hell daily. As Isaiah 5:14 says "Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it."

2. The Sins Of The Flesh

The apostle Paul shows us in many passages how those who participate in these sins will not inherit the kingdom of God. In Galatians 5:19-21 it says "19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." We can look around and see that these sins are everywhere in our world and in the church. Notice Paul said "and such like" which today would include the sins of gambling, pornography, smoking, drugs, etc. In I Corinthians 6:9-10 it says "9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." Also, in Romans 1:18-32 it says "18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." We see many of these sins in our society today: sodomy, inventors of evil things such as abortion, adultery, fornication, etc. Jesus said in John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." The thief is the devil who comes to kill, steal and destroy but Jesus Christ came and died and shed his sinless blood for the sins of the whole world and rose from the dead and is on the right hand of the Father in heaven.

3. Hell Is Not The Final Destination

Jesus Christ told us that we must enter the strait gate. In Matthew 7:13-14 it says "13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." In Romans 6:23 it says "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." In Revelation 20 we see that hell is not the final destination for the lost. It is the lake of fire which is the second death. In Revelation 20:4-6, 11-14 it says "4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years....11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."

If you are not saved today please realize the price of living a sinful life. Please pray this prayer out loud to receive Jesus Christ in your heart.

Prayer Of Salvation

Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you as a sinner,
I know I can't make it on my own,
Forgive me for my sins,
Come into my heart, Come into my life,
According to your word, In Romans 10:9-10, You said,
That if thou shalt confess, With thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
And shalt believe in thine heart
That God hath raised Him from the dead,
Thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart, Man believeth unto righteousness,
And with the mouth, Confession is made unto salvation.
Thank you Lord for saving me! I am a new creature now.
I will pray, I will read my Bible,
I will do the things according to your word.
