What Church Is Jesus Coming Back To?-Part
I
That he might present it to himself a glorious
church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but
that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians
5:27
In this issue of The Prophetic Messenger we will start a
message about the church that Jesus is coming back to.
1. The First Church
In John 8:31, Jesus showed us
what his true followers would do. In John 8:31 it says
"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him,
If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples
indeed;" Also, in Acts 11:25-26 it says
"25 Then
departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: 26 And when
he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came
to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with
the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were
called Christians first in Antioch." Jesus Christ also
mentioned how the world would hate and persecute his
followers. In John 15:18-21 it says
"18 If the world
hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but
because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out
of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20 Remember
the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater
than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also
persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep
yours also. 21 But all these things will they do unto you
for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent
me." Also, in I Peter 3:13-17 it says
"13 And who
is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which
is good? 14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake,
happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be
troubled;15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and
be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh
you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and
fear: 16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak
evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that
falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 17 For it
is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for
well doing, than for evil doing."
2. The Church Now
Jesus Christ gave us a detailed
description of the church in these last days. In Revelation
3:14-21 it says
"14 And unto the angel of the church of
the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the
faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of
God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor
hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou
art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee
out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and
increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest
not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and
blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried
in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment,
that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy
nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with
eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I
rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my
voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will
sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh
will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also
overcame, and am set down with my Father in his
throne." Jesus said that this church was lukewarm
"So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold
nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth." Also,
Jesus said the church said
"I am rich, and increased
with goods, and have need of nothing;" However, this
is how Jesus himself described the church
"17...and
knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and
poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me
gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white
raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of
thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with
eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I
rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."
3. Jesus Is Coming Back For A Holy Church
Jesus
Christ is coming back for a holy church. In I Peter 1:13-16
it says
"13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind,
be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be
brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 As
obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to
the former lusts in your ignorance: 15 But as he which hath
called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of
conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I
am holy." Also, in I Peter 2:9 it says
"But ye are
a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a
peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of
him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous
light:" David said in Psalm 119:11
"Thy word have
I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against
thee." In I Peter 2:2 it says
"2 As newborn babes,
desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow
thereby:" Also, in Hebrews 5:14 it says
"14 But
strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even
those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to
discern both good and evil." The apostle Paul spoke
about how we must live in a holy manner and renew our minds
with the word of God. In Romans 12:1-2 it says
"I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is
that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Memory Verses
As Christians if we want to live in
victory and if we want to be able to share the Word Of God
with others we must know the Word of God ourselves. Let's
see what the Bible says about this. "Thy word have I hid in
mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm
119:11. " If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye
shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you."
John 15:7. "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on
him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples
indeed." John 8:31. We encourage you to put the following
scriptures in your heart: II Timothy 1:5, Exodus 4:8, Titus
1:15-16, Ezra 1:2-3, Ezekiel 36:35-36, Psalm 54:1-7,
Ephesians 1:18-21, Ruth 4:11-12, Mark 6:48-50, Jeremiah
