Is Russia Rebuilding The Former Soviet Union? - Part IV

If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. Ezekiel 33:3-4

In this issue of The Prophetic Messenger, we will finish a message titled “Is Russia Rebuilding The Former Soviet Union?”

1. Russia’s Rebuilding of the Old Soviet Union and How it Relates to Bible Prophecy

In Ezekiel's prophecy, in chapters 38 & 39, the nations fighting against Israel are Magog , Gomer, Togarmah (Former U.S.S.R. and part of Turkey), Meshech and Tubal (Turkey), Persia (Iran), Ethiopia (Ethiopia), Libya (Libya) and Syria. These nations are mentioned in Ezekiel 38:2,5-6 and 15 where it says

"2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,.....5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: 6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.....15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:"
Russia’s actions in rebuilding the Old Soviet Union through large military upgrades is a foreshadow of the future war described in Ezekiel’s prophecy.

In an article titled “Putin Takes Jab at US, NATO During Vast Victory Day Parade”(Note 1) it says

“Thousands of Russian troops marched across Red Square under the eye of Vladimir Putin on Saturday to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s World War II victory over Nazi Germany. The largest Victory Day parade since the fall of the Soviet Union showed off Russia’s biggest nuclear missiles and some of Mr. Putin’s best new military hardware, including the much touted Armata T-14 tank. In comments subtly directed at NATO, Mr. Putin said that military alliances were gaining strength and warned against a unipolar world—shorthand in Moscow for the global influence of the U.S. In another apparent jab at Washington, he said that the principles of international cooperation were being ignored. ‘We have seen attempts to create a unipolar world. We see how military-bloc thinking is gaining force. All this undermines the sustainability of global development,’ Mr. Putin said in front of war veterans, their chests heavy with medals, wiping away tears. ‘Our common goal should be the development of a system of equal security for all governments. System adequate [to deal with] modern threats, built on regional and global nonaligned bases. Only then can we ensure peace and tranquility in the world,’ he said.”

In another article titled “Russia Unveils New Armata Tank for WW2 Victory Parade”(Note 2) it says

“Russia has unveiled a new-generation battle tank called Armata T-14 ahead of World War Two Victory Day celebrations on 9 May. It is among several new weapons systems featuring in a vast parade on 9 May. It is 70 years since the Soviet and Allied armies defeated Nazi Germany in 1945. The Russian defence ministry has posted photos of the new military hardware, taken during a rehearsal. Most Western leaders will not go to Moscow because of the Ukraine crisis. Russia's former World War Two allies - the UK, France and US - will be conspicuously absent from the event. The Red Square spectacle is expected to be the biggest military parade ever held . . . . Zvezda TV, a Russian defence ministry channel, says the tank's chassis is adaptable as a platform for other weapons systems. And Russia's RT news says the Armata could "evolve into a fully robotic battle vehicle". Its computer technology, speed and manoeuvrability are said to be far superior to those of the T-90, the current mainstay of the Russian army. Russia plans to bring in about 2,300 Armatas, starting in 2020, to replace Soviet-era tanks.”

2. Russia’s Future Plan For America

The messages of this four part series (Is Russia Rebuilding the Former Soviet Union) discuss Russia and how it’s preparing for war with America. America has cut the size of its military while Russia has upgraded its military with a large amount of military hardware. I will close with a few articles to show just how serious the problem is that we are facing today. In an article titled “Gorbachev: NATO Expansion into Ukraine Risks Nuclear War World 'will not survive the next few years'”(Note 3) it says

“Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, without necessarily taking sides with Russian President Vladimir Putin, told a German news magazine that NATO instigated the current Ukraine crisis because it had chosen to not adhere to the provisions of the Paris Charter of 1990, thus saying the dangling nuclear between the bloc and Russia is just a matter of time. With both sides flaunting their respective nuclear arsenal, Gorbachev told German magazine Der Spiegel the world “will not survive the next few years” if either side lost its nerve in the current stand-off. “Moscow does not believe the West, and the West does not believe Moscow. The loss of confidence is catastrophic.”

Another article titled “Russian Strategic Bombers Near Canada Practice Cruise Missile Strikes On US”(Note 4) states

“Two Russian strategic bombers conducted practice cruise missile attacks on the United States during a training mission last week that defense officials say appeared timed to the NATO summit in Wales. The Russian Tu-95 Bear bombers were tracked flying a route across the northern Atlantic near Iceland, Greenland, and Canada’s northeast. Analysis of the flight indicated the aircraft were conducting practice runs to a pre-determined ‘launch box’—an optimum point for firing nuclear-armed cruise missiles at U.S. targets, said defense officials familiar with intelligence reports. Disclosure of the nuclear bombing practice comes as a Russian general last week called for Moscow to change its doctrine to include preemptive nuclear strikes on the United States and NATO. Gen. Yuri Yakubov, a senior Defense Ministry official, was quoted by the state-run Interfax news agency as saying that Russia’s 2010 military doctrine should be revised to identify the United States and the NATO alliance as enemies, and clearly outline the conditions for a preemptive nuclear strike against them. Yakubov said among other needed doctrinal changes, ‘it is necessary to hash out the conditions under which Russia could carry out a preemptive strike with the Russian Strategic Rocket Forces”—Moscow’s nuclear forces.’”

In another article titled “For The First Time, Russia Has More Deployed Nuclear Warheads Than U.S.”(Note 5) it says

“For the first time, Russia, which is in the midst of a major strategic nuclear modernization, has more deployed nuclear warheads than the United States, according to the latest numbers released by the State Department. Russia now has 1,643 warheads deployed on intercontinental ballistic missiles, submarine-launched ballistic missiles and heavy bombers. The United States has 1,642, said the fact sheet released Wednesday. The warhead count for the Russians, based the Sept. 1 report required under the 2010 New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), shows an increase of 131 warheads since the last declaration on March 1. The U.S. reported a warhead increase of 57 during the same period. It is not clear why the warhead numbers increased.”

In another article titled “Putin’s Nuclear Navy Gets An Upgrade: Russia Christens New Top-Secret Submarine”(Note 6) it says

“Russian President Vladimir Putin has a new weapon at his disposal: a top-secret nuclear submarine named Severodvinsk. The fourth-generation vessel, the first Yasen K-560 nuclear submarine, was christened Tuesday, the Russian news agency ITAR-TASS reported. ‘The Navy’s incorporation of the new nuclear submarine Severodvinsk is a significant step toward strengthening the undersea component of the Navy potential. Rejuvenation of the submarine forces has come to a practical stage,’ Russia’s Navy Commander Admiral Viktor Chirkov said Tuesday at the ceremony, Interfax reported. ‘The submarine is equipped with the newest communications and navigation systems, a completely new nuclear power unit, and [it] carries powerful armaments, among them supersonic cruise missiles,’ Adm. Chirkov added. The Severodvinsk is the 131st nuclear submarine built for the Russian Navy. It was built at Russia’s largest shipyard, located at Sevmash.”

Memory Verses

As Christians if we want to live in victory and if we want to be able to share the Word Of God with others we must know the Word of God ourselves. Let's see what the Bible says about this. "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119:11. "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7. "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed." John 8:31. We encourage you to put the following scriptures in your heart: Numbers 6:25, John 20:21, I Peter 4:17, Matthew 8:16, Leviticus 27:31, Romans 8:16, Isaiah 52:7, Luke 17:18, John 1:14, Jeremiah 23:1.
