Spiritual Wickedness In High Places - Part I
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
In this issue of The Prophetic Messenger, we will start a message titled "Spiritual Wickedness In High Places." We will look at satan and the fallen angels and their influence over the earth.

1. There Are Three Heavens
A. The Third Heaven: The apostle Paul told us in II Corinthians 12 that he was caught up to the third heaven. In II Corinthians 12:2-4 it says "2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) 4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter." In this passage we see that the third heaven is paradise where Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the holy angels of God are.
B. The First Heaven: The first heaven is described in Genesis 1 as the open firmament of heaven. In Genesis 1:20 it says "And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven." In this passage the birds that we see flying high in the sky are in the first heaven.
C. The Second Heaven: The second heaven is between the first and third heaven and it is described in Job 1 and Revelation 12. In Revelation 12:7 it says "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels." Michael, in this passage, is the archangel as mentioned in Jude 1:9, and the dragon is the devil and satan as mentioned in Revelation 12:9. Also, in Job 1:6-7 it says "6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. 7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it."

2. There Are Demons or Evil Spirits Over Nations
We can see from Daniel 10 and Mark 5 that there are evil spirits, which are fallen angels, over nations or cities, etc. In Daniel 10:1-14 it says "1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. 2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. 3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled. 4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel; 5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: 6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude. 7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. 8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength. 9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground. 10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. 11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. 12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. 14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days." In this passage Daniel had prayed for three weeks and God had to send an angel and Michael the archangel (the same Michael in Jude 1:9) to help get the message to Daniel.
In verse 12 -13 it says "12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia." God heard the prayers of Daniel on the first day that he prayed, but a evil spirit over Persia delayed the message God sent to Daniel for 21 days. This example should encourage us as Christians because it shows that when we pray we must pray through as Daniel did to receive the answer from God.
In Mark 5:1-15 it says "1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. 2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: 4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. 6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, 7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. 8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. 9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. 10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. 11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. 12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. 14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. 15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid." In this passage we see how the evil spirits did not want to leave the area where they were dwelling, "And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country."
In verse 12 -13 it says "12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia." 3. Spiritual Wickedness Will Increase Because Satan And His Fallen Angels Will Lose Their Dominion In The Heavens And Will Be Cast On The Earth
In Revelation 12:7-11 it says "7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." In this passage we see satan and his fallen angels are cast out of the heavens and will only be able to dwell on earth. As a result, evil will increase on the earth.
In closing, Jesus Christ has given us power over the devil and his fallen angels. In Luke 10:19 Jesus says "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." The serpent is the devil and satan as mentioned in Revelation 12:9 and the scorpions are the fallen angels. And Jesus told us in this verse, that we, as Christians, have power over them.
